Senthil is the newest member to join the team and brings with him a long history of senior lab experience. Senthil is an experienced Biomedical scientist specialising in Clinical Microbiology. Senthil did his Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees in India. He moved to the UK and completed his training at John Radcliff Hospital (Oxford University Hospital) and has worked in many NHS & private laboratories in the UK for the last 13 years. He is a qualified biomedical scientist trained in basic haematology, microbiology and serology testing. He has experience in handling not only urine but blood, faeces, CSF, other body fluids/swabs, tissue cultures including neonatal and gynaecology samples. He is well-versed in handling various laboratory systems, developing laboratory policies, managing and reporting on POCT testing, microscopic assessments of urine and vaginal swabs and benchtop testing needed for identification of pathogens.
Senthil is in charge of our laboratory and ensures Health and Safety legislations are met and kept up to date. He has taken on the lead for the Microscopy service and ensures that the clinics run smoothly by analysing and recording results on the system in a timely manner so that the doctors can interpret these to their patients.
Senthil is a extremely positive individual and his wealth of experience in the field brings a fresh new perspective to our team and is an invaluable asset for future research projects.
