Shivan is a Clinical Fellow GP with a special interest in chronic UTIs. He trained at University College London and has worked as a doctor in the London and Hertfordshire regions since qualifying as a doctor.
As an NHS GP, he has encountered many patients who suffer with ongoing symptoms after being treated for a urine infection and therefore became interested in this area, including the book published by Professor Malone Lee as well as publications on this subject matter. He feels very passionate about being able to offer a solution to this condition and thereby enabling patients to live normal fulfilling lives. He has wider broader medical knowledge and understands the importance of taking a holistic approach to managing patients including appreciating their background medical history and having a shared decision making approach to determining treatment.
When not working at Artemis, he works as an NHS GP. He has taken on a number of leadership roles in the NHS including roles in his local commissioning board to help provide clinical input into the services in the various areas he’s worked in. Moreover, he is passionate about inspiring the next generation of doctors and is a tutor at University College London Medical School and was recently awarded the Fellowship of Higher Education Academy in recognition of his teaching contributions. He also organises educational meetings for GPs in his local area. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, and is currently trying to learn how to play golf.
